Hyundai Repair: Airbag sensor, loaner vehicle, sensor light

Question
I have taken my 2003 Santa Fe, twice already for this one. The airbag sensor light goes on and will not shut off. I take it to the dealer and they tell me it was a short or the connection was loose. Is there a way for me to fix this problem myself. I am not in the mood to take another 1hr drive to the dealer and wait 2hrs for them to tell me it was loose.

Answer
Without the diagnostic trouble code, there's no way to determine the nature of the problem as to why the lamp is coming on.  Considering your history with this problem, you might contact the dealer and ask them to supply you with a loaner vehicle until they determine what's wrong with your vehicle and repair it.  If indeed the connection was loose and continues to be loose, they need to determine what's making it loose and rectify it.

If your receipts from the previous repairs have the diagnostic trouble codes on them, knowing those help me understand what has been happening previously with your vehicle.  Feel free to follow-up with the codes if you'd like information on what they indicate.
