Hyundai Repair: oxygen sensors, hyundai sonata gls, sonata gls v6

Question
QUESTION: Can you tell me what the warranty is for newly replaced 2000 Hyundai Sonata GLS V6 oxygen sensors, i.e. 12 months/12,000 miles? Thank you.
ANSWER: If you paid for repairs at a Hyundai dealer, Hyundai will pay for parts and labor to make repairs due to failure (defect) of the parts replaced on the original repair for 1 year or 12,000 miles.

If you purchased the the parts from the dealer but the dealer did not install them, Hyundai will cover the cost of parts through the dealer for 1 year.

If you had work done, but Hyundai paid for the repairs, there is no additional warranty.

If you had the work done at another shop, that shop's warranty policy and your local laws will determine the warranty.

QUESTION: Is it true that if one uses a higher octane gas, the car wouldn't need the oxygen sensors replaced as frequently?

Answer
Using higher octane will not result in longer oxygen sensor life.

Octane is simply an anti-knock measure.  As long as you don't hear spark knock, there's no reason to use a higher octane gasoline than the manufacturer's minimum recommendation (87 in the U.S. for all Hyundai products).  Using a higher octane in these circumstances will do nothing more than remove extra money from your pocket.
