hi i have a hyundai accent 1998 1500cc 12 valve wenever i pull away and at low rpm the car jumps i think its a missfire but ive changed the ht leads spark plugs cam belt has bean replaced braught a new coilpack just had fuel pressure tested and everything is said to be ok had the car checked for air leaks everything seems ok there now ive noticed i have sparks comeing out of the coil pack. main dealer hasnt got a clue but the car definatly feels as though it has a missfire.about a month ago i put new plugs in the car but they dont seem to be burning a sandy colour please can anyone help as i like my little car very much thanks andy

If you see sparks coming out of the coil while everything is attached, you definitely are experiencing an ignition-related misfire.  

If the sparks are coming out between the wire boot and the coil tower, check both for carbon tracking and wear.  If a groove is worn into the coil tower, you'll need to replace the coil.  Otherwise, make sure the wire boot and coil tower are free of any carbon tracks.  If necessary, replace the coil or the wires to do this.  Also make sure there is a good seal between the coil and wire.  Your situation often arises as a result of using inexpensive plug wires which don't seal well.

If the spark is coming out the side of the coil (not the tower), the coil is defective and must be replaced.
