Hyundai Repair: Ignition, hyundai elantra, park position

Question
I have a 1995 Hyundai Elantra with an 1800 cc DOHC and automatic transmission.  The ignition sometimes will not go to the lock position.  It stays on accessories and will not come out.  When I take the back off the ignition switch, the key still will not turn to the lock position.  When I have the switch apart and turn it to the lock position the key will also turn to the lock position.  Is there an electric lock or solenoid that controls the ignition cylinder lock?  If so where is it?

Answer
There's a solenoid on the ignition lock itself that prevents you from turning it to the off position unless the gearshift is in the park position.  Start by checking the switch on the gearshift.

When you turn the switch off, that probably removes the power from the solenoid and allows you to remove the key.
