Hyundai Repair: door locks, door latch, flasher relay

Question
I have a 2003 Santa Fe that I recently had to have the flasher relay replaced.  I was also having problems with all the passenger dorrs unlcoking when I opened the driver side door.  I told the dealership when I took it in for service as it is still under warranty and as it was only doing it when the flaher was not functioning the mechanic said that it was all related and would be fixed when the new relay was installed. Had that done yesterday and although I reminded them to make sure that the door was not still unlocking when I picked up the car it was still doing it.  I see in a previous question that you mentioned something about either corrosion in the harness connector or the door lock actuator is defective.  How do I determine this?

Answer
The door harness corrosion was a common issue for the 2001-2003 Elantras, not the Santa Fe, so it's doubtful that's your issue.

Since the problem occurs while you're opening the driver's door, I'd primarily suspect the driver's door actuator, which is attached to the driver's door latch, which is of course one of the moving components when you open the door.  I'd first latch and unlatch the latch by hand to see if that made the problem occur.  If not, I'd probably next remove the driver's door trim panel to see if anything looked abnormal.  Since your vehicle is still within the warranty period, there is little reason for you to do this.  Take it back to the dealer and let them have the grief of figuring it out.  The technician who diagnosed the flasher relay should have known that wasn't the issue with the locks, since the circuits aren't inter-related.
