Hyundai Repair: 97 Turn signal Failure, blown fuse, hazard switch

Question
The turn signals and hazards stop working in my wifes 97 hyundia Elantra. It is not a blown fuse. And im having trouble determining if it is the switch that needs to be replaced or some other part. Please Help.

Answer
The two most common failures that cause your symptoms are the hazard switch and the flasher relay.  If you can make the turn signals/hazard lamps start working by cycling the hazard switch in and out a few times, then the problem is definitely the hazard switch.  If not, you'll need to check to see whether the flasher relay is receiving the proper input.  You should have power in the brown/red (or yellow/red) wire and ground in the black wire.  If you do, replace the flasher relay.  If not, check to be sure the hazard switch is properly plugged in.  If so, replace the hazard switch.
