Hyundai Repair: Steering, sante fe, transfer case

Question
I have a 2003 Sante Fe, 76,000 miles, it recently started making a grinding/chunking sound when I turn the wheels to the left.  I can also feel something through the floor where my left foot rests.  All the boots are intact and dry..... Do you have any idea what this might be?

Answer
This could be just about anything related to the brakes, steering, or front suspension.  It's also possible it could be coming from the transmission or transfer case.  If you're unable to find anything conclusive in your own inspection, you should take the car to be checked immediately.  Wear of some of the components that could cause the symptoms you describe can make the car unsafe to drive.
