Hyundai Repair: 2002 SanteFe brake pedal vibration, warped rotors, santefe

Question
Recently, we have been experiencing some brake pedal vibration and growling when applying the brakes and at times, growling when turning without applying the brakes.  I suspect that it is time for new brake pads.  Vehicle has 56K miles.  Thanks!

Answer
Vibration when braking is typically an indication of warped rotors.  Growling is not a typical noise characteristic of brake problems.  Grinding when braking typically occurs if the rotors have become rusted or the brake lining is worn away to where the pad backing plate is contacting the rotor.  Your pads have wear sensors which make a squealing noise when the vehicle is moving.  When they're just beginning to make the noise, it may occur when turning, when not braking, or when braking.
