Hyundai Repair: 2003 tiburon gt, intake manifold gasket, cylinder number

Question
I have a 03 Tiburon gt, It started running very rough last month.  I am recieving the code P03302 which is misfire on # 2 cylinder.  I replaced the spark plugs, spark plugs wires and also the coil, there has been no change in the car.  Could some one please tell me what else might be wrong with my car.  Is it possible that the injector for # 2 cyldiner is not working properly.  Thanks

Answer
It's possible that there is a problem with the injector, low compression in that cylinder, or an intake manifold gasket leak.

First, verify that the cylinder is firing.  Cylinder #2 is the one in the front on the drive belt end of the engine.  Pull the wire off the plug, put an old plug in the wire and lay it on the valve cover.  The plug should spark.  If it doesn't, you'll need to see why the #2 plug isn't firing.

Presuming the ignition checks okay, reattach the wire to the spark plug.  If your misfire is primarily at idle, you may have a manifold or manifold gasket leak.  Spray a small amount of carb cleaner or similar combustible aerosol on the manifold gasket at the #2 port and at the plenum gasket at the #2 port.  If the misfire goes away, you've got a manifold leak.

If you have no manifold leak, swap the #2 injector with the #4 (center cylinder, front bank) injector.  This will be reasonably easy to do since both are on the front bank.  Restart the engine and see if the misfire has transferred to cylinder #4.

If the misfire stays in cylinder number two, pull the three plugs out of the front bank and perform a compression check on those three cylinders.  That should be enough to form a basis for comparison to see whether the readings for cylinder #2 are low.
