Hyundai Repair: Engine malfunction light, engine malfunction, fuel cap

Question
I own a 2005 Sonata which passed inspection 30 days ago. It has approx 21,000 miles. The engine malfunction light just came on. Is it okay to drive for a while until can be fixed. Also, what would suppose it would be?

Answer
As long as the lamp isn't flashing and your vehicle is operating normally, it should be okay to drive for a reasonable amount of time until you can have the dealer diagnose the problem.

There is a very large number of possible causes, so it's impossible for me to know what the issue may be.  The list of trouble codes I have is over 30 pages long.  One thing you can try is to make sure your fuel cap is tight.  If that was the problem, the lamp may go back out in a few days once the computer is convinced the problem has been repaired.
