Hyundai Repair: Tiburon, clutch system, clutch cable

Question
I have a 2000 Tiburon with 90000 miles. After driving about three miles, stopped at a stop sign and the car would not shift into any gear. It felt like there were not any gear to shift into. Finally got it to shift into reverse, made a grinding noise and stalled. Started right up and did the same thing. Wondering if it could be as simple as a clutch pin or clutch cable. Appreciate any advice. Thank you.

Answer
It sounds like your clutch isn't releasing.  The clutch system on your car is hydraulically operated.  It's possible your fluid is low, resulting in no pressure to release the clutch.  Check the fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir.  If low, you'll need to add fluid and bleed the system.  If the fluid level is okay, you'll probably need to remove the transmission and inspect the throwout bearing and pressure plate.
