Hyundai Repair: 91 Hyundai Scoupe front wheel, hyundai scoupe, wheel hub

Question
It seems like the front passenger wheel is seizing up when driving and giving off a burning smell that is so strong that you can actually smell inside the vehicle.  When I say seizing up, I mean while giving gas, the vehicle feels that it is pulling something and is struggling to excelerate?  Any info would be strongly appreciated.
thank-you!

Answer
It's possible that the brakes are seizing.  To check this, wait until the problem occurs, and then see if your vehicle will roll down a slight incline while in neutral.  If it won't, you should suspect that your brakes are indeed applied.

The next step is to figure out why this is the case.  You'll need to jack each wheel off the ground to see which one(s) will not turn.  Then loosen the fitting at the master cylinder for the appropriate wheel(s).  If the wheel now turns, the problem is in the master cylinder.  If not, tighten the fitting and move down the line to the next fitting and loosen that one.  If it frees the wheel, the problem is in the line between the two fittings.  If not, tighten and move on to the next fitting in line.  Continue doing this until you find the section of brake line/hose that has the problem.  If you loosen the caliper bleeder and still the wheel is not free, you should suspect a mechanical caliper issue.  To verify this is the case, remove the caliper and make sure the wheel hub turns freely.
