Hyundai Repair: shift syloniod, hyundai elantra, solenoids

Question
QUESTION: I have a 01 Hyundai elantra and i started to get trans problems and i found out that theres a malfunction with the shift syloniods C and B. what does this mean and how hard is it to fix it???
ANSWER: The course of action for repair will depend on what's wrong with the solenoids.  In most cases, the repair will involve replacement of the solenoids and/or the wire harness inside the transmission.

Since you haven't specifically said what the problem with the solenoids is, I presume that someone has already done some diagnosis and told you that you had this solenoid issue.  There are, however, some things you may be able to tell me that will help me understand what your problem may be.

1.  What symptoms were you having?
2.  Was the check engine lamp on?
3.  Did someone check for diagnostic trouble codes?
4.  If so, can you tell me the codes?

QUESTION: The trans was starting to slip into higher gears and not go in at all. then once the car got warmed up it wouldn't drive anywhere, however when its cold it will drive. No one did a diagnostic, i have the tool that reads the computer in the car and tells you the codes. The codes were P0760 and P0755, and the check engine light only came on when the car wouldn't go into any gear.

Answer
P0755 and P0760 indicate a problem with the electrical circuit for the Underdrive and 2nd solenoid, respectively.  This could be in the harness between the TCM and the transmission (rare), in the harness inside the transmission, or in the two solenoids.

Ordinarily, I'd recommend visually inspecting the harness between the TCM and transmission, and if nothing is found, replace the harness inside the transmission along with the two solenoids in question.  I find it troubling, however, that you report that the vehicle won't go into any gear, and I interpret this to mean it won't move (i.e. the transmission is slipping).  It's normal for the TCM to place the transmission in 3rd gear only after detecting the problem relating to the diagnostic trouble codes, but if the vehicle won't move at all, that suggests that you probably also have a mechanical issue within the transmission that will require a replacement or overhaul.
