Hyundai Repair: Draincock for radiator, plastic screw, hex nut

Question
Hello,
I have a 2001 Santa Fe V6. I am trying to flush out the radiator but cannot find the draincock for the radiator. All I have found is a long thin pipe running parallel to the radiator and it is attached to the bottom area of the radiator with a hex nut. Is this it? I didn't want to take it off if it was something else.
Thank you so much!

Sincerely,
Gerry Amato

Answer
No, the pipe is not for drainage.  That's your transmission cooler piping.  You definitely don't want to take that loose.

The drain is either a red or green plastic screw in the bottom of the radiator.  It's only accessible through a hole in the front of the subframe.  If you have a shield under your engine, you'll need to remove it to access.  I usually use a #3 Phillips screwdriver to take the draincock loose, but a reasonably sized flat blade often works just as well.
