Hyundai Repair: 2006 hyundai sonata 3.3 V6 wiring, adobe svg viewer, vehicle speed sensor

Question
I'm installing a pioneer avic-d3 navigation unit.  I need to identify 3 wiring leads. 1) the speed detection circut lead, maybe a.k.a vehicle speed sensor wire.  2) the power supply lead of the parking break switch.  3)reverse backup light lead.  Location and colors of these leads would be very helpful.

Thanks

Answer
Hi, Vinny.  First, I'm going to give you information about Hyundai's service information website.  I'll do my best to give you descriptions of what you request, but it's sometimes difficult to explain these thing without pictures and diagrams.

Hyundai's service website is www.hmaservice.com.  You'll need to register for an account, but it's free.  The site requires Internet Explorer, and you may need Adobe SVG Viewer to see the schematics.  You may also need to disable your pop-up blocker.

Once you've logged into the site, click on the service information link and then enter the year and model of your car.  Then click on the ETM (Electrical Troubleshooting Manual) tab.  With the links on the left, you can select circuits to view.  Once you're viewing a circuit, there are links at the bottom of the page which take you to a listing of components, connectors, or grounds.  Clicking on the link for one of these components, etc. will take you to a picture of the location of that item.

Now to more directly answer your questions.
1.  The vehicle speed sensor is located on top of the differential of the transmission.  You can tap into the speed pink (2.4L) or green (3.3L) wire in the speed sensor connector if your harness is outside the vehicle.  If inside, it's probably easy to tap into the yellow wire in pin 6 of the OBD-II connector.
2.  There's only one wire in the parking brake switch.  It'll be orange.  You can find the switch under the console on the parking brake lever.
3.  The easiest place for me to describe to tap into the reverse lamps is the blue wire at the tail lamp itself.  There are other places inside the vehicle, however, where you can do this.  This is a situation where you'll want to look at the back-up lamp system schematic and see where the different connectors and modules are that this system uses.  There may well be an easier place for you to use for this.
