Hyundai Repair: Windshield Wipers, windshield wipers, wiper blade

Question
Hi, a little while ago, my wipers experienced excessive resistance going up and down.  It took 12 seconds to go up and come down once!  I took it in, and they said it was the linkage that was seized up, and to replace the linkage was a little pricey...  so I put it off.  Shortly after, they freed up and have resumed their motion at normal speeds.  However, the passanger side wiper seems to barely make sufficient contact with the window to clean it.  The drivers side wiper is okay, though.  Would I still need to replace the linkage, or would it be possible to adjust something for it to make better contact to clean the windows.  If so, how?

Thanks,
Gerald

Answer
There's not much that can be done with the linkage that will make the wipers make better contact with the windshield.  Poor contact is usually the result of a bent arm or blade, or a frozen wiper blade.

Wiper blades are cheap enough at your local parts supplier.  If you don't see a problem, you might just purchase a new blade and install it to see what happens.
