Logged onto Hyundai site but unable to find TB 03-40-007-1 in their list of TBs related to transmission/transaxle matters. Any advice?

-----Question-----
My wife and I bought a used 2000 Tiburon with only 75000 miles on it. Within a few months we had to have the transmission completely rebuilt to the tune of about $2100.
A few months later the car was back in the shop because one of the solenoids in the transmission failed (which was replaced free under warranty). Last week the transmission took a dive again and the transmission shop replaced two solenoids which were bad, and then for some reason it was still not testing right so they replaced a third solenoid.
We now have a new 12000 mile warranty on the transmission, but question the advisability of keeping the car. We are understandably nervous about using the car for any long trips.

My initial read on this is that the transmission shop doesn't have a good grasp on what's wrong with the transmission.  But that could be clouded by your interpretation or comprehension of what's being done, possibly caused by the repair shop not relating things well.  Solenoid failures on this transmission are rather rare.

Technical Service Bulletin 03-40-007-1 may be of special interest.  One of the things it discusses is the fact that solenoid trouble codes can be caused by a poor ground circuit.  If you wish, you can see the bulleting at www.hmaservice.com.  The site requires Internet Explorer, and you'll need to register for a free account.

As for the 2000 Tiburon, it's rather reliable in general.  Once you get the transmission issues completely resolved, you should be able to feel better about taking the car on long trips.  Until then, caution is probably the best approach.

Answer
Let's make sure you're proceeding through the site properly.  I believe everything you do should be similar to what I do for my dealer account.

First, login.

You should then arrive at the main screen.  Click at the "Service Information" link at the upper left.  The site should then load the main service information page.

Enter "Tiburon" in the model field and "2000" in the year field.

Click on the "TSB" tab at the top of the page.

In the left frame, click on "Transaxle," then on TSB 03-40-007-1.

I see that although the bulletins are usually in numerical order, this one is at the top of those beginning with 03 for no apparent reason.  This may be why you had difficulty finding it.

Unfortunately, I cannot print it here due to copyright regulations.  If you find the link and cannot view the TSB, you may need to check the site requirements, but this particular TSB appears to be in PDF format.  You may also need to turn off your pop-up blocker.

If you're still unable to view the TSB, you may just provide the TSB number to the shop.  Depending on their resources, they'll be able to look it up.
