Hyundai Repair: Hyundai Santa Fe Hood release, hyundai santa fe, hood latch

Hood release was very stiff and I was unable to open with the lever.  Was able to grab onto the ball at the end of the wire and open it several times but now can not.  Is there some kind of emergency release mechanism so I can get hood open to work on release

Unfortunately, there is no emergency release.  You might first try using vice grips on the release cable.  This may give you enough leverage.  If not, you'll need to try to engineer some way to release the hood latch through the grille.

Once you get the hood open, you should take some time to figure out the issue that is making the hood difficult to open.  Your cable or latch may be binding.  The time to repair this is before you shut the hood again.  Otherwise, you're in for more difficulty the next time you need to open the hood.
