QuestionI own a Hyundai Elantra 2005, please let me know how should I disengage the alarm system by the key if it was previously engaged by the remote ?
I only have a remote, sometimes my wife sets up the alarm by the remote and I have to disengage it by the key.
Answer1. Enter the vehicle (alarm will sound) and turn the key to the "start" position and release to the "on" position.
2. Wait 30 seconds (alarm will silence after about 20 seconds).
3. Then start the engine. The alarm will be disarmed until the vehicle is again locked with the remote or the battery is disconnected.
Every once in a while, the vehicle may not start using this procedure. If that occurs, restart with step two.
