Hyundai Repair: cooling system hyundai sonata 2000 4 cylinder, coolant temperatures, hyundai sonata

Question
one, what temp does t-stat open and is system need to be blooded after replacing. two what temp does electric fan come, any else controlling fan, besides thermistor on goose neck.the last part is i bought radiator for six cylinder not four it fits fine ,but will it effect engine operation, other than more anti freeze and trans fluid.

Answer
The thermostat should begin opening at 82 degrees Celsius and should be fully open at 95 degrees Celsius.  After filling the system, letting the car run with the radiator cap off until the fans cycle twice should be sufficient to bleed the cooling system.  Top off as necessary during and after this.

The radiator fan is controlled by the engine control module (ECM), based on the coolant temperature readings and whether the A/C is on.  Unfortunately, I know of nowhere where Hyundai specifies the actual coolant temperatures where the fans start and stop.

According to the Hyundai parts catalog, both the four and six cylinder used the same radiator, so the radiator you purchased shouldn't have any adverse affects.
