Hyundai Repair: 2000 Hyundai Elantra GLS DOOR PANEL, hyundai elantra gls, hyundai elantra

Question
1.  The driver's door handle broke.  I am trying to remove the inside door panel i removed all screws around panel and in the door handle, yet the panel still won't come off.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Answer
If you're just replacing the handle, you won't need to remove the door panel.  Once you've got the screw out, you should simply be able to push the handle forward or rearward to disengage the retaining clips on the handle.  Then unclip the rods and pull the handle out.

If you have a reason that you do need to remove the door panel, you'll need to remove the pull handle and switch assembly if you haven't already done that.

It'll also help if you've removed the triangular trim by the mirror.

Beyond the above items, removing the screws around the edge of the door panel should be sufficient.  It should pull away from the door, snapping loose, and you should be able to remove it by lifting up off the door's window sill.
