Hyundai Repair: Santa Fe - removing brake rotors, wheel hub, inner areas

Question
I have removed everything down to sliding off the rotors (including removing the two screws in the rotors).  The rotors wont slide off like I'm use to with brake repairs on other vehicles.  I've lightly pinged the rotors at the ends and inner areas (not the braking surface) and have not had any luck. How do you get the rotors to turn loose?

Answer
The rotors tend to rust enough that they don't want to separate from the wheel hub.  If you're planning on replacing the rotors, you can use a large hammer (3 to 4 pounds) to break them loose.  If you plan on reusing them, I recommend trying to remove them with about a 3 pound plastic or brass hammer to avoid damaging the braking surface.

Do not attempt to force them off with the threaded holes in the rotors where you removed the screws.  Even though these holes were probably threaded specifically for this purpose, using them typically cracks or breaks the rotor.
