Hyundai Repair: 2001 Hyundai accent lights, hyundai accent, tail lamps

Question
My dash board lights and parking ights just went out on me the other day and so nowi can't drive at night. All the fuses look good, what could be the problem? Is this something that i can fix on my own? If so, how?

Answer
You should have two fuses in either the interior or underhood fuse box that are labeled for the tail lamps.  Inspect these fuses carefully.  One controls the tail and park lamps on one side of the vehicle, and the other controls the tail and park lamps on the other side as well as the dash illumination.

Of course, if one is blown, there's likely an issue that made the fuse blow.  You should check to see whether the tail lamps operate properly after replacing the fuse.  If not, you'll need to start checking the items in the circuit that could make them blow.  Since the dash lamps are involved, there will be a significant number of items.
