Hyundai Repair: Brake Rotors, phillips screws, wheel hub

Question
I am trying to replace the front brake rotors on my 2002 elantra. The problem is that I can't get them off, I think they are rusted on. Any suggestions?

Answer
Once you remove the wheels, there may be two Phillips screws holding each rotor to the hub.  These will need to be removed if you haven't already done so.

It's not uncommon for the rotors to rust onto the hubs.  This occurs because the space between the rotor inner circumference and the wheel hub outer circumference is very small.  Since you're replacing the rotors, you can use a big hammer to knock them loose from the rear.  Just be careful not to hit the knuckle ears.
