Hyundai Repair: 99 Hyundai Sonata V6 Alternator replacement, negative battery cable, hyundai sonata

Question
Not sure of the procedure to replace the alternator on a 99 Sonata V6 GLS.  Can't find info anywhere on it.  Your help is much appreciated.

Answer
I checked the shop manual, and I couldn't find an actual procedure there, either.

If you don't have ABS, it's pretty simple.  Just disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the drive belt, unbolt and disconnect the alternator, and pull it out through the top.  You'll probably need to remove the engine cover and disconnect a few electrical connectors to get room to squeeze it through.

If you do have ABS, it'll be a pain in the you-know-what.  Your choices are to remove the ABS module, which I don't recommend because it'll require bleeding the module and the entire brake system, which will be very difficult for a do-it-yourselfer.  It's probably better in this case to remove the right front axle and the upper engine mount.  Then, unbolt the alternator and jack the engine to get enough clearance to slip the alternator out the side opening.
