Hi I am an apprentice mechanic 2nd year i have yet to master electrical unfourtanatly, i own a 1999 Hyundai Accent GS, and i keep burning trew Heater fans, i suspect that the alternator is overcharging but i am not 100% postive can i please have some advice on the topic before i dish out some cash for a new alternator and heating fan.

thank you very much for your time, pat.

Unless there's something restricting the motion of the fan or the fan vibrates when it's turning, there's little that would make a fan motor burn out.

If your alternator is overcharging, your air bag lamp should be on and there should be a code for excessive system voltage.

What's been the source of your replacement fan motors?
Is the fan blade in good condition?
Is there anything in the area that could keep the fan blade from turning?

there is nothing restricting the blades and it is great shape brand new it simply burns out and yes i do think my airbag light comes on once and a while what do you think it is ? thanks agian

Answer
You should have your air bag system checked at the dealer to find out what the problem is.  If you have a high voltage code, replace the alternator immediately.

Even if it is overcharging, I doubt the alternator is the issue causing your fan motor to go bad.  It's much more likely that the issue is the replacement fan motors you're using.
