Hyundai Repair: 2003 Tiburon - Trouble starting after fill up, fuel vapors, purge valve

Question
The last two times that I filled my car, I have had a difficult time getting it started and then keeping it running. Once it is running it is ok and I have no problems after that starting or driving. Any ideas?

Answer
Your symptoms are typically caused by a stuck open purge valve.  If the valve is stuck open, fuel vapors will get pushed into the engine when refueling, creating a flooded condition when you attempt to restart the car.  To check the purge valve, attempt to blow through it.  With the car off or the electrical connector unplugged, you should be able to do that.  If you can, it's stuck open.
