Hyundai Repair: 1997 Tiburon just died, crankshaft pulley, electrical issues

Question
I was on the highway and traveling about 60 mph.  My 97 tiburon has 275,000 km on it.  The car suddenly loses power and there is no acceleration.  I depress on the gas pedal and no power is seen and no acceleration.  The car slowly comes to a stop on the side of the road and I tried starting the car again, but it would not turn over.  I have a brand new battery and the tank was half full.  I checked to see if my alternator belt was broken and it was not.  My oil pressure and level was fine as well.  I am wondering if it could be the fuel pump? or the distributor ?  Any help would be good.  Right now its just sitting in my garage.

Thanks

Answer
Since you say the engine doesn't crank, we should be concentrating on electrical issues and mechanical problems that would make the engine not crank.

Check your battery voltage.  It's possible the alternator is not charging and you've depleted the charge on your new battery.

Check to see whether you can turn your engine by hand (22mm socket on crankshaft pulley).  If not, your timing belt may have broken (causing the pistons to hit the valves, possibly preventing the engine from turning) or your engine may be locked up.

If your Tiburon is the same as a U.S. specification vehicle, it won't have a distributor.  Even if it does, a faulty distributor or fuel pump won't make the engine not crank.  If those items are defective, the starter will still turn the engine, but it won't start running.
