Hyundai Repair: 94 Hyundai starting problem, air flow sensor, hyundai scoupe

Question
I have a 1994 Hyundai Scoupe 4cyl (16v non turbo) that you helped me out with an electrical problem in the past (relay and bad alarm). Well it starts and runs fine except once in a while it refuses to start. The starter turns, just wont start, it doesn't even pop. If you wait 10 to 20 minutes and try again, it fires right up like nothing happened. I believe it may be the purge control valve, and before spending another $50 I would like your opinion.

Answer
It's doubtful that the problem is the purge valve.  Letting the car sit should only make the condition worse if that were the case, since that would only allow more fuel vapors into the intake.

I would suspect maybe a defective crank sensor or even a defective air flow sensor.  But realistically, the potential issues are many.  A good driveability shop should be able to diagnose this problem if they can make it occur when they have the car.  I think at this point, you'd be better served to try to find the issue while it's actually occurring.
