Hyundai Repair: Windsheild Wipers, windsheild wipers, junk yard

I Have  a 1997 Elantra. The windsheild wipers internal arm(under the hood) is cracked  and falls off causing the wipers to stop moving. I tried to get it fixed but the mechanic said it would be 300 dollars because the whole wiper transmission would have to be replaced. Does anyone know of a cheaper solution?

Without looking at your wiper linkage, I cannot tell if it can be repaired.  But since your mechanic didn't offer to repair it instead of replacing it, I expect this solution to be impossible, not cost effective, or unreliable.

This isn't an unreasonable part to obtain at a junk yard.  You might check to see if you can have a used linkage put in at a significantly lower price.
