Hyundai Repair: 2003 tiburon Alternator installation issues, alternator belt, 2003 tiburon

Question
- Thanks
the first thing i did was try to find where the previous mark, but to no success, someone else suggested to get wd40 and spray it on the belt? is this a good idea? and should i apply it while running?

Answer
If your belt is slipping, WD-40 will alleviate some of the noise, but the lubricant will make it slip more.  You'd be better off tightening the belt sufficiently.  It'd be my recommendation to tighten the alternator belt until you can no longer flex it with light pressure on the belt.
