Hyundai Repair: 2000 Hyundai Elantra dying, hyundai elantra, 2000 hyundai elantra

Question
My Hyundai Elantra has been having a problem of my car randomly dying when I drive it around. It started about 6 months ago as a once a month kind of thing, and only in not so common driving situations. Lately it has gotten worse and will die after driving it for about 10-15 min, usually if traffic is heavy and there is a lot of stop and go driving. Well now my battery has died [we think]and the car won't start, obviously.

Are these two problems at all connected? I heard from someone that maybe an oxygen sensor could fix the problem I have with the car dying.

Thanks for offering any help you can!

Answer
Your car is not dependent enough on the oxygen sensor for that to make the car not run.

If your battery is dead, your engine won't crank when you attempt to start the car.  It's remotely possible this could be the cause of a stalling issue, but it's likely this is separate from a stalling issue.

The random stalling you describe could be caused by a faulty idle actuator, a worn fuel pump, or a malfunctioning crank sensor.  Has your check engine lamp been coming on?
