Hyundai Repair: 2001 hyundai accent 1.6L timing belt replacement, crankshaft pulley, pulley bolt

Question
What type of puller do I need to remove the crankshaft pulley?  Also what is the best way to install the pulley when finished?  The Timing marks are clearly marked so those shouldn't be a problem.  Once the belt is removed will the marks stay aligned or will they have to be held in place?  Thanks, Tim

Answer
Once you've got the 22mm crank pulley bolt out, the pulley should slide right off.  If not, some light prying and persistence should do it.

When reinstalling, simply slide it back on and tighten the 22mm bolt.

The timing marks will stay aligned, so no worries there.

Based on your questions, it sounds like you've done timing belts before.  If so, there's little about doing a timing belt on this engine that should give you a problem.
