Hyundai Repair: Accent windshield nozzles, hyundai accent, time sarah

Question
Hi,
Hope you might have an answer to this problem. I have a 2000 Hyundai Accent, after filling the windshield fluid, no fluid comes out from the nozzles on either side (driver or passenger). I live in Georgia, so it hasn't been that cold for the lines to freeze. I don't see any leaks, but then I'm not sure where the lines are coming from in the engine. So, before I take it to a mechanic, I was wonder if you had any ideas of how to fix this problem.

Thanks for your time!
Sarah

Answer
First, you'll want to try to see where the problem might be.

When you activate the washer, do the wipers run for a few sweeps?  If so, then you already know the switch is good.  If not, you should suspect a faulty switch.

When you activate the washer, do you hear a hum from the washer pump?  If not, you should suspect the washer pump is bad (although there are other less common electrical possibilities).

If so, do you get a puddle under the car when you operate the washers?  If so, you've got a break in the hose somewhere.  If not, your nozzles are likely plugged.
