Hyundai Repair: broken key in ignition 2001 Sonata, broken key, lock cylinder

Question
Thank you for your quick response.  I need a little help on how to remove the lighted green plastic ring.  It looks as if it has to come off to get the cylinder out.  I can't find how it is held on.  I tried pulling on it, and it felt like it was ready to break.  Can you help with that too?
Thanks much!

I read your answer to another person with the same problem.  I am able to operate the car with the broken key.  Removal of the lock assembly looks difficult.  How do I remove the lock cylinder after I turn the switch to the on position?
-----Answer-----
Once you've removed the trims necessary to access the ignition lock housing, there'll be a pin you need to depress.  It'll be in a small hole in the lock housing and will only depress when the key is in the "on" position.  I tried to find a diagram of where the pin was so I could give you a better description, but I couldn't find a diagram.  You'll probably need a right angle pick or similar tool to depress the pin, and you'll probably need something similar to grab the lock cylinder and pull it out of the housing since your key is broken.

Answer
I couldn't find information on this in the shop manual, and it's been so long since I've had one apart, I cannot recall whether it's necessary to remove the ring nor for certain how it comes off.  If I recall correctly, it snaps off, buy it's probably best to look around the circumference very carefully to be sure there's not a small screw or something holding it in place.  But I also don't seem to recall having to remove the ring for anything.  I think there's enough room to get the lock cylinder out without removing it.  But again, I'm not certain on this.
