There is no dome light switch with 3 positions only  
a ON /OFF switch for passenger and driver side.

Question -
2003 Elantra dome light will not come on when door is opened. I works fine manuall by pressing button by light. Is there a switch that controls this I have turned off?

Answer -
There's a switch on the dome lamp with three positions (on, door, off).  It will only operate with the doors when in the "door" position.

If the issue only occurs with one of the doors, it's likely the door switch on that door is malfunctioning.

Answer
The lamp about halfway back on the roof has the three position switch on it that I speak of.  That's the one that will turn on when you open the door.  

If you have another lamp (this depends on whether you have a sunroof) with no on/door/off switch, it will not turn on when the door is opened.
