Hyundai Repair: no power, hyundai electra, secondary ignition

Question
I have a 1996 Hyundai Electra that loses power every time I try to go up a hill. The Engin light flashes and acording to a computer analysis I got the #3 cylinder is misfiring. I have checked the spark plugs, plug wires and ignition coil, but still no results. Right not the catalytic converter is missing from my car. Is this the cause of our problems?

Answer
The converter (or lack thereof) is not the cause of your problem.  If you've verified that #3 coil, plug, and wire are good, then you'll need to investigate the injector and compression. Just make absolutely certain there's nothing wrong with the secondary ignition (plug/wire/coil) before moving on to more difficult diagnoses.
