Hyundai Repair: 2000 Hyundai Tiberon, full tank, ecm

Question
My daughter's Tiberon has now developed a problem of just shutting down. The engine completely dies with no warning. It will crank right back up. Where do we begin to look for the problem? She has a full tank of gas the last time it happened.

Answer
The first thing I'd do would be to check to see if there are any codes stored in the ECM.

With more information about what happens when it stalls, I may be able to provide you with possibilities that are consistent with your system.  The following will help:

- Is the vehicle always at a stop when it stalls?
- Does it happen with the accelerator depressed?
- Is there a lack of power prior to the engine stopping running?
- Are there any other performance-related symptoms?
