Hyundai Repair: P0715 Code, powertrain warranty, hyundai repair

Question

With reference to the above question and answer, I am having the same problem. My 5yr/60K warranty just expired this past May, so I'd like to find out if this is covered under the Powertrain Warranty. Also, would you happen to know the Part # for replacing this sensor. I tried calling Hyundai Customer Support but they were unable to tell me about the warranty without the exact part number. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Answer
Unfortunately, it's not part of the powertrain warranty.  The good news is that I've never seen that code indicate a fault other than the input speed sensor, and that's a relatively simple repair.

If you're a do-it-youselfer, you'll need to remove the air box and unbolt the bracket holding the transmission cable to the top of the transmission.  The sensor is partially under that bracket.  Simply unbolt it, take it out, and install the new one.  Be sure to clean the area first so debris doesn't drop into the transmission.

The part number is 42620-39051.
