Hyundai Repair: crankshaft sensor, crankshaft sensor, hyundai sonata

i have a 2000 hyundai sonata it died when i was driving it.I had it checked and the code came back as the crankshaft sensor was bad, replaced it and now it will not start up it turns over but has no fire. please help

Hi, Melissa.  To be much help, I'll need to know what engine your car has.  It'll either be a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder or a 2.5 liter V6.

Answer
The crankshaft sensor is a significant amount of work to replace on this car.  In most cases, the timing belt is removed to replace the sensor.  It's possible the timing belt wasn't reinstalled properly.  

If that's the case, you may have already done engine damage just by running the engine.  If the car won't drive, you should have it towed back to the facility that replaced the cranshaft position sensor.  That way, if the problem was do to their improper repair, they can fix your vehicle for free this time.
