Hyundai Repair: 04 Elantra problem starting after filling gas tank, fillup, gas tank

Question
This only occurs after I fill up the gas tank. My 2004 Elantra has a hard time turning over after I get gas and start it up to pull away. I have to gun the engine and put it in drive quickly or else the car dies. Is this just a bad fuel injector and does it just need cleaner or something else? Thanks

It's not clear to me whether you have an issue starting the car, or just driving the vehicle.

In any event, if you have poor performance that occurs only immediately after fillup, you should probably first check the purge control valve.  I'd wager it's stuck open.

Furthermore, if you don't have 60k on the vehicle, the repairs should be covered under your new vehicle warranty.  In this case, I'd recommend taking it to the dealer with less than 1/2 tank of fuel so they can verify the condition.
