Hyundai Repair: Diff output shaft seal on sante fe, output shaft, shaft seal

Question
I a have a 2003 Sante Fe AWD that has the seal for the output shaft leaking. My local dealer said it is a warranty item with proof of service. Since we cannot find all our service records we are considering having a local shop do the repair rather than fight with the service department. I am lloking for an approx amount of time that this would take to repair so I know that I am being charged fairly.

Thanks,
Dave

Answer
If you are talking about a transfer case leak depending on the seal it could be anywhere from 2 to 7 hours. If the case requires removal and tear down to repair the leak it is quite a lot of work for an independant shop that is not familiar with the repair procedures.
Good luck.
