Hyundai Repair: Fuel System, crank sensor, fuel pressure

Question
I took my 2000 Tiburon on a long road trip.  When I tried to start it today, it would just keep turning over, but would not start.  I have never had a problem like this before.  It has 70,000 miles on it.  I also have 1/2 tank of gas, but turns over like its on empty.  When I tried to start it, I put the pedal to the floor to see if I smelled gas, but nothing.  I popped the hood and smelled nothing. . . please help

Answer
There's a long list of things this could be: broken timing belt, faulty fuel pump, defective crank sensor, and more.  Does the check engine lamp illuminate when you turn the key on?

If so, then the computer is powering up and operating.  If not, you'll need to investigate why the computer isn't operating.

If you can, check the timing belt, check for spark, and check for fuel pressure.  This will help you determine what type of problem you have.  If you are unable to do this, it's time to get professional help.
