Hyundai Repair: Hyundai Accent 2002 Parking Brake Light, rusty bolts, hyundai accent

Question
Hi,
I just bought a used 2002 Accent and the following day, the parking brake light on the dashboard wouldn't go off even though the parking brake had been disengaged. The brakes disengage just fine and the car drives without any problems. But is there a simple way for me to turn the light off? I sprayed some WD-40 on some rusty bolts in the engine to slow the rusting down. Don't know if that could have contributed to the problem. Appreciate your help. Thanks!

Answer
You are most likley low on brake fluid. The most common cause of this is normal brake wear. You may need new pads and or shoes. Check the fluid level in the master cyl and top it off. if it doesn't go down in a short period of time then you probably have no leaks. But to be safe have the brakes checked.
Hope this helps
