Hyundai Repair: Resetting the Time on a 97 Hyundai Accent, technical service bulletins, woodruff key

Question
How do you Reset the time on a 97 hyundai after replacing the Time Belt?

Answer
There's a small hole in the camshaft sprocket that lines up with an indentation in the front camshaft bearing cap.  The hole will be approximately straight up when aligned to top dead center (TDC).

There's an indentation in the rear of the crankshaft sprocket that lines up with a tit on the aluminum case of the engine.  I believe (but can't recall for certain) that the Woodruff key is at 3:00 when the crankshaft is aligned to TDC.

The easier way is to before removing the timing belt rotate the engine by hand until the marks are aligned.  Then remove the old belt and install the new, and all should still be aligned as long as all the slack is put on the tensioner side of the belt.

I just saw the question for the 1996 Accent as well.  I'm going to tag it as a duplicate keep things simpler.  Everything should be the same for the 1996 as the 1997.
