Hyundai Repair: Hyundai electric issue, amp fuse, grasping at straws

Question
I have a 2001 Elantra 5 speed which was jumped backwards (negative cable on positive terminal and visa versa). After spending $280 for a new alternator and battery and 2 hours installing them, the vehicle runs (apparently fine). However, I have no clock, radio, power locks, or dome light. My temperature and fuel gauges are flatlined... most of the time. When they do move, its innaccurate and fluctuates to extremes. Further, when I first start the car, i catch a brief flash of the clock, then nothing. The Speedo and RPM meters work fine. I had a friend (the same friend who jumped it backwards in the first place) messing with the fuses/switches while I was installing the alternator, they may not be set to their original positions... or I'm thinking it could be the wiring got baked with the rest of it... All of the fuses which can be visibly checked appear to be fine.  I'm grasping at straws. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Answer
Check *all* the fuses.  The large main fuse is probably blown-- that's usually the largest culprit.  It'll be about a 100 Amp fuse and bolt into the underhood fuse box.  You can probably see the break in the element through the clear plastic top on the fuse.  It's also possible that some of the interior fuses have blown.  If you've got a test lamp, you can test the ATC fuses by clipping the lamp on a good ground and then just touching the terminals on the exposed portion of the fuse.  If it lights on one side and not the other, the fuse is blown.  If it lights on neither side, power is not reaching the fuse for some reason (ignition, lights, or something else may need to be on).
