Hyundai Repair: Starting problem, negative battery cable, hyundai elantra

Question
I have a 1997 Hyundai Elantra Sedan that is an automatic and has 110,000 miles on it. I had the car running when I used the 4 way flashers. When I turned the car off, it would not start again. I don't have any turn signals, brake lights, 4 way flashers, and the car is stuck in park. The radio lights up when turned on, but no station is illuminated or plays. The fan sometimes comes on and the key signal sounds until I push on the brake. I replaced the battery, because there is no sound from the battery when I try to start. Could you give me some idea of where to start?

Answer
It sounds like a bad connection at the battery ot the negative battery cable at the engine. Make sure the cable ends at the battery are clean and tight, no green or white "Fuzz" around the connections. If you can twist the cables on the battery they are too loose. If that doesn't work you shopuld probably have it looked at by a pro, there could be a bad connection somewhere that could be real tough to pinpoint.
Hope this helps,
Good luck
