Hyundai Repair: 2001 Tiburon, fan motor, cooling fan

Question
My daughter's Tiburon is running hot, not low on anti freeze or water.  Could the Drive belt being too tight or loose cause this?  Her drive belt needs replaced, and I am wondering if the overheating problem could be caused by this?

Answer
usually not, The most common causes of an over heat on that engine is either the thermostat or the cooling fan. To check the fans start the car and turn on the AC. Both fans should be running. If not either the fan fuse or relay is bad or possibly a bad fan motor. If the fans work I would go after the Thermostst.
Hope this helps.
