Hi, I am trying to remove the transaxle from my car. I have all the bolts off but still cannot figure out what the problem is. It appears to to be hanging up some where in the clutch housing area. Please ....help me get back on the road with it.

Your car is equipped with a "Pull type" Clutch. The releaes bearing is attached to the pressure plate and then around the clutch release fork. You will need to remove the clutch release lever on the trans to get the trans out. The lever is hitting the case and preventing the fork from disengaging from the pressure plate. When you re assemble the clutch you will need to put the new bearing on the release fork, insatll the trans, re attach the release lever, UPSIDE DOWN and push the bearing onto the pressure plate. Then reassemble the lever the correct way and finish with your re install. I know it sounds like a lot but it will make sence after you look at it.
God luck and let me know how it works out or if you ahve any other problems.

How do I remove the clutch release lever? Does it come off as I am seperating the transmission  from the motor or do I need to loosen or take something off? I reallyeciate all the assistnace. Looking forward to hearing your reply.

Thanks, Darrell

Answer
The lever is on the top of the trans, where the release cylinder was located, it has a nut holding it to a shaft in the trans if you remove the nut the lever will pull off the shaft. The release cylinder has a rubber hose attached at one end and the release lever at the other. Get that out of the way and you should get the trans out.
