Hyundai Repair: Clicking noise on 2001 sante fe, exhust, sante fe

Have 2001 Sante Fe approx.57000 miles, for the last year it has been making a clicking noise up front when I slow down to stop. You do not hear it when it is just idling. Been in the job 5 times,they have replaced ac compressor, tencher pulley, and they still do not know what is making the noise.  Noise stops when you shift in to neutral.  The noise also comes and goes.  It will stop for weeks and then all the sudden start up again.  Noise is similar to the clicking a game wheel slowing down. Progessively getting louder,  Any suggestions.

This may sound funny but its real , i had this once but not in a santa fe but try this when you take back the exhust is making noise have then try to losen the exhust an ler it set down an work ok its sounds like its in a bind  or the other is the catalitic converter is bad so eather way its in the exhust in my mind
